UNITE-A musical state of mind

Music aficionados have much reason to celebrate. Wednesday, May 7th will bring together top acts from Mumbai's burgeoning music scene, for UNITE- a fundraiser in support of education. Award-winning pop-rock cover band The Other People and musical sensation and connoisseur Luke Kenny will headline the concert with an opening act by singer-songwriter Ronit Sarkar a.k.a Awkward Bong.

Atma, a pioneering non-profit organisation dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children and youth is celebrating its 7th Anniversary through this annual fundraiser. Executive Director Mary Ellen Matsui says, "We are so excited to have such amazing talent from across the city come together to support Atma and our success of having reached out to over 25,000 children over the last 7 years."

Known for their energetic and exciting performances, The Other People has opened for the India tours of numerous International artists like DJ Edward Maya, Michael Learns to Rock and Bedouin SoundClash. Lead vocalist Zarir Warden says "We are big supporters of Atma and the exemplary work that they are doing in Mumbai. UNITE is a fantastic event that brings together musicians and music lovers in support of quality education and we are excited to be supporting them for the second year in a row!"

Bungalow 9 with its charming old- world-meets-contemporary styled interiors will lend a picturesque backdrop to this musical extravaganza. An exciting line up of auction prizes including tickets to Hong Kong, 2 night-3 day stay at Grand Hyatt Goa and a luxurious and relaxing spa session at Palladium Hotel Mumbai are also up for grabs.

Hosted by one of the funniest funny men in the country- Abish Mathew and his unique comedy will make UNITE 2014 a pun-filled evening!
