The music album of Camphor Cinema’s Tamil film Ramanujan was launched at Suryan FM Radio station today. Present at the audio launch were Director Gnana Rajasekaran, Srivatsan Nadathur, Sushant Desai, Sharanyan Nadathur and Sindhu Rajasekaran – producers, Camphor Cinema, music director Ramesh Vinayakam, renowned playback singers P. Unni Krishnan, Vinaya and Vani Jayaram, Abhinay Vaddi and Y Gee Mahendra.
Music Director Ramesh Vinayakam, known widely for his melodies, has composed extraordinary fusion music for 'Ramanujan’. Fusing Classical Carnatic Music and Classical Western Music is no easy task, especially considering that 'Ramanujan' is a period film and needs to be true to the historicity. The Music Director used no modern instruments, and made sure all old world instruments were used in order to bring the period alive. The background music has been subtly woven into the narrative, aiming to transport the audience back in time i.e. 100 years ago.
Talking about the music of the film, music director of Ramanujan Ramesh Vinayakam says, “It's an honor to have composed music for the film 'Ramanujan,' which is about such a great genius. My music tries to delve into the unfathomable mysterious and mystical mind of Ramanujan in its own world, which invariably found bliss in the triumph of originating newer and newer theorems. The music represents the tribulations of Ramanujan’s Life torn between hope and despair, and the loneliness that came along with the genius. It was great working with Director Gnana Rajasekaran and Camphor Cinema, they gave me the creative freedom required to compose music for such a film: a historical biopic. In the wake of the Audio Launch, I request all to legally download/buy the songs. We have recorded with a live orchestra in Germany and used unique Indian instruments. One would be able to appreciate the music better when hearing its high quality.”
The music album that contains 8 tracks is now available on Divo at music stores. The 5th , 6th, 7th and 8th tracks as listed below are Compositions that revolve around mysticism, numbers, the Absolute, etc. and have been recorded in Bauer Studio, Frankfurt, Germany.
