High Street Phoenix’s Awestrung Reloaded concludes on a high note with spectacular performances by 50 independent artistes

One of the largest free-ticketed musical concerts - Awestrung Reloaded concluded on a high note. A property of High Street Phoenix, conceptualized and produced by Hungama Artist Aloud, the marathon concert witnessed a lineup of stellar performances from popular and talented independent artistes. Manasi Scott, Ananya Birla, Faridkot, A Band Of Boys, Luke Kenny, Smokey, Suneeta Rao, Mame Khan, Sunita Bhuyan and everyone else ruled the stage with their performances leaving the crowd enthralled.

Hosted by Mihir Joshi, who also performed on stage, the marathon concert offered a platform to artistes to showcase their original music. Popular singer, Suneeta Rao captured the hearts of the audience with her original song Wada Karo while Mame Khan raised the energy levels with his power-packed performance on Kesariya Balam. The concert also saw entrepreneur turned pop singer, Ananya Birla leave everyone spellbound with her new single Better, while Manasi Scott’s performance on her single Constellations left the audience mesmerized. Faridkot, Luke Kenny and Smokey got the audience grooving to their numbers. Sunita Bhuyan as the only instrumental artiste left the audience wanting more.

The festival also upped its ante by bringing artistes across genres under the same umbrella. Popular rapper from India’s first hip hop band, Ace (Mumbai Finest), A Band of Boys, Indie rock band - Delhi Indie Project, Electro-pop band - Laxmi Pop, Pop Rock band Faridkot performed their best originals for the audience. The diversity of artistes in the lineup created an unforgettable experience for music aficionados.

Rajendra Kalkar, President (West), The Phoenix Mills Ltd said, “With this edition of Awestrung, we wanted to give it a larger than life stage. Awestrung Reloaded was conceptualized to be a mega festival that provides a platform to independent talent in India and allows our patrons to enjoy live original music. Commenting on the conclusion of Awestrung Reloaded, Soumini Sridhara Paul, Vice President, Artist Aloud, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Entrepreneur turned singer and songwriter, Ananya Birla said, Hungama Artist Aloud has been promoting independent music and independent artistes, so it feels amazing to be here. It was an absolute pleasure to have performed here. The digital shift has done a lot and influenced people all across the world and sharing of information is bringing the world together. There are more opportunities out there and people are becoming more open-minded. They are realizing that music is the universal language and the language barrier is slowly fading with all sorts of genres coming to India.“

Popular singer and songwriter, Manasi Scott said, “My association with Hungama Artist Aloud goes way back to their inception. I was among the first few artists who were signed by them and since then our relationship has matured into something beautiful. They have fostered the growth of independent music in the country. Their continuous efforts have resulted in building an exclusive platform for independent artists and enabled them to grow and share their talent with the world.”

Mihir Joshi, who hosted the event and also performed said, “It was a pleasure to be a part of an event that celebrated independent music and artistes in such a phenomenal manner. As the host of the event, I had the opportunity to interact with my colleagues from the industry and it was a pleasure to learn about their journey and listen to their music. And as a singer, it was truly fantastic to perform a couple of my songs in such a brilliant concert.”

Singer Priya Saraiya said, “I loved all the performances by the independent artistes at High Street Phoenix’s Awestrung Reloaded. I am really proud to have performed among such talented artistes.”

Deane Sequeira who launched her new original Timeflies said, “I dropped my new single at High Street Phoenix’s Awestrung Reloaded today. The song is really different from what I have been doing so far. I hope the listeners enjoy and love the new music.” Rock band, Delhi Indie Project said, “Concerts like High Street Phoenix’s Awestrung Reloaded help independent artistes grow more and take their original music to a mass audience.”

Talking about his performance Luke Kenny said, “Independent music has come a long way yet has a long way to go. Hungama Artist Aloud is among the few companies that has helped raise awareness for independent music and artistes. I think that with more such initiatives and activities, independent music can be bigger and have a wider audience.”
