Jaz Dhami releases “Kai Saal” on Artist Originals

After launching his first track Kiwe Dassa in February 2019, Artist Originals (AO), the in-house music label of South Asian music streaming service, JioSaavn has launched UK-based singer Jaz Dhami’s second track Kai Saal.

The music video featuring Baljit Deo and starring Nikki Howard, depicts the tribulation of young love ending in heartbreak. Kai Saal, emphasizes on unaddressed feelings causing agony and  adversely affecting relationships.

Speaking about the track, Jaz said, “Every now and again a song comes along that you instantly know is special - Kai Saal is one of those rare songs. When Zohaib - the writer, first sent me a voice note of the lyrics with composition, I immediately knew I wanted this song. Alan Sampson helped me bring the emotions of the song to life through his production and his direction around how I should sing the song. I am immensely proud of Kai Saal - in my opinion is the perfect merger of cultures – traditional Punjabi melodies with an authentic western musical treatment.”

Jaz Dhami became prominent in the global music scene in 2014 when he became the first South Asian artist to collaborate on the official BBC Music Launch Song, featuring 27 international artists including Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonder, One Direction, Elton John and Sam Smith (to name a few).

The song God Only Knows has gone on to raise funds for the BBC’s Children in Need.  He has performed with the Philharmonic in London and a 71-piece orchestra at the at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. And in April 2016 Jaz Dhami performed at the first ever BBC Asian Network Live Concert in London – other artists performing included Badshah, Naughty Boy, Imran Khan and Kanika Kapoor.
