Red Bull BC One heads to Mumbai this year.

For its 16th edition, Red Bull BC One, a global celebration of Hip Hop, travels to India, with the Red Bull BC One World Final to be held in Mumbai on November 9. Some of the best breakers in the world will go head-to-head to take home the belt and earn the title of Red Bull BC One World Champion. This year, for the first time ever, an Indian breaker will compete on the World Final stage, with B-Boy Flying Machine earning himself a wildcard entry into the top 16 in the B-Boys category.

A total of 14 B-Boys from around the world will receive wildcard entries in the B-Boys category, with the final two spots being filled by the winners of the Last Chance Cypher. Announced so far are two-time world champion Menno, Canadian B-Boy Phil Wizard and Stripes from the US.

Also introduced last year is the B-Girls category, with the top four B-Girls competing on the World Final stage for the title.

A three-time Red Bull BC One India Champion, Flying Machine won the inaugural edition of the competition in India in 2015, followed by two more wins in 2017 and 2018.He has since regularly held workshops, won a number of breaking competitions across the country and his first international championship at Breakin’ Boundaries in Austria last year, and celebrated 10 years since he began breaking earlier this year.

He says, “I’m very excited to have been given this opportunity to represent India at the Red Bull BC One World Final. It has triggered me to push and train harder. This year I completed 10 years as a breaker and at this moment I’m extremely motivated to give it my all and battle for the championship”.

The first ever Red Bull BC One World Final was held in 2004 at the legendary cultural centre La Coupole in Biel – it has since become the biggest and most respected breaking event in the world. It consistently attracts the best breakers on the planet, giving them the opportunity to develop their talent and perform on a global stage. Since then, the championship has been touring the world with events in São Paulo, New York, Moscow, Paris, Nagoya, Amsterdam and, last year, Zurich.
