Continuing its legacy of last three years, the Paddy Fields 2019 will be coming up with rainbow of music with seven different performers spreading the aura of music. The performers will hit almost all kinds of forms of music during the two day event on Friday November 29 and Saturday November 30, 2019 at Central Hall, Nesco, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. Music lovers will get to listen the versatile Sukhwinder Singh along with Meet Brothers, Munawwar Masoom, Osman Mir, Pooja Gaitonde, Purbayan Chatterjee and Abhijit Pohankar.
Like every year, the Paddy fields 2019 have been doing valuable additions in their upcoming seasons. The season of 2019 will work on theme to pay tribute to the writers, composers, musician, vocalist and the music directors. Along with this, the season will have have the class of music lovers for hard core Bollywood lovers to Ghazal fans as well as Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati folks singers along with Qawali, Eastern and Western Music. With all the hit numbers and Folk music, the music lovers will get to listen and quest the musical thirst.
Following the Theme, Purbayan Chatterjee and Tanushree Shankar Dance Troup will pay tribute to great Anand Shakar. Purbayan Chatterji added, “I shall be performing with the Tanushree Shankar Dance Troup and pay tribute to the great Anand Shankar Ji who was one of the Maveric musicians of our times. He was the musician and composer who was way ahead of our times. We will be paying tribute to some of the immortal time less compositions as well as presenting some of my own compositions and some of the folk compositions of our country, molded and presented in the sound of Anand Shankarji. I have a fantastic array of musicians with me, so please be there.”
Abhijit Pohankar, a known name in Marathi classical singing will bring marathi folk to the event, added, “I will be excited to perform in the Paddyfields 2019. I will be performing on Marathi Folk Songs including Nami, Abhang and Kirtan, but with the fusion set up. I am sure you will rock on the songs which we are bringing, the Pure Folks Mix with Grooves.”
Paddy Fields is known as India’s only music festival that takes the beauty of Indian folk music and presents it to an audience accustomed to Bollywood and International music! It’s the festival where music lovers discover traditional music they have never heard, are introduced to artistes they’ve never seen and watch familiar artistes perform sets that are brand new to both the artiste and the audience.
The performers including Meet Brothers and Munawwar Masoom have shown their excitement to take part in the event. They have also asked the music lovers to be present and witness the variety of music. The Meet Brothers, who will be performing on Punjabi folk addressed, “You have always seen you perform and rock on the Bollywood songs, but this time it will be different as we will be performing to pay the tribute to Punjabi Folk Singer Prakash Kaurji and Surender Kaurji. It will going to be very different, unique and you will going to be love it.” The Known Sufi Musician Munawwar Masoom said, “It is the most known Folk Fusion programme all across the country. I am excited to perform here.”

SUKHWINDER SINGH
Sukhwinder Singh is an internationally acclaimed singer, composer, actor and lyricist, famous for singing “Jai Ho”, “Chaiyya Chaiyya” and many more. Some of his notable achievements include an Academy Award for Best Song, a Filmfare Awards for Best Playback Singer and a National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer. With a singing career that spans 34 years, he has lent his voice to many an actor, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Akshay Kumar to mention a few.
MEET BROTHERS
Manmeet Singh and Harmeet Singh, known collectively as the Meet Brothers, have already left their mark on the Bollywood music scene. A series of hit songs like Baby Doll, Chittiyan Kaliyaan and High Heels has cemented their popularity. At Paddy Fields 2019, this duo will be paying tribute to the Indian singer-songwriter Surinder Kaur and Prakash Kaur – often referred to as the “Nightingale of Punjab”.
MUNNAWAR MASOOM
With a uniquely intense, spiritual style and a deep connection with the words of Sufi mystic Amir Khusro, Munnawar Masoom captivates with his powerful singing. He breathes life into the traditions of Qawwali, and is best known for his song Husne Muhabbat Ka Ada. Munnawar has a deep love for Qawwali, and it’s no surprise he’ll be paying tribute to popular Qawwals at Paddy Fields 2019.
OSMAN MIR
Osman Mir is an Indian playback singer known for his emphatic renditions of Ghazals, Bhajans, Indian classical and folk music alike. He’s provided his voice to many a song in Dhollywood – the Gujarati film industry, and has been working on Bollywood projects since 2013. At Paddy Fields, Osman Mir will be paying tribute to Gujarati spiritual music.
POOJA GAITONDE
She might be young, but Pooja Gaitonde oozes talent whether she’s tackling soulful ghazals, complex raagas or even fun jingles! She also dabbles in classical fusion, with unique combinations like Sufi Jazz. Music is a calling for Pooja, and she loves experimenting and exploring new genres. Pooja is set to light up the Paddy Fields stage with her tribute to the popular Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib.
PURBAYAN CHATTERJEE & THE TANUSREE SHANKAR DANCE TROUPE
Purbayan’s incredible talent playing the sitar won him a President’s Award at the young age of 15, and today, he is best known for bringing together Indian classical music and world music genres through his work. Purbayan is a multifaceted musician. Along with North Indian raagas, he also performs with musicians from the South Indian musical traditions and participates in various fusion projects. Accompanied by the Tanusree Shankar Dance Troupe, Purbayan will be paying tribute to Anand Shankar- a singer, musician and composer best known for his blend of Western and Eastern musical styles.
ABHIJIT POHANKAR
A prolific music producer, composer, singer and Indian classical keyboardist, Abhijit Pohankar is a rising star in the world of new-age Indian music. He came into the limelight with the success of his fusion/new-age music album Piya Bavari in 2002. His music has exotic elements of traditional Indian music fused with world music sounds. At Paddy Fields, Abhijit will be paying tribute to legendary Marathi poets and saints like Sant Tukaram, Sant Ghyaneshwar and Sant Eknath.
