Azadi Records is proud to preview the debut release by Kannur-based producer So Fire, titled ‘Triangles: Exes & Whys’ , the EP was produced in collaboration with American-Tamil singer Rolex Rasathy and Mumbai-based rapper Shayan Roy. The EP was released exclusively through Apple Music and featured on the Apple Artist Spotlight on 13th December.‘Triangles: Exes & Whys’ is the label’s first foray into soundscapes beyond hip-hop and reaffirm its ambitions of highlighting music created by artists from regions that are often ignored by the Indian music industry. So Fire aka Sharan Jayan is an incredibly talented producer that has worked across the Tollywood film industry and been behind the boards for multiple projects by artists such as Rolex Rasathy and others.

‘Triangles: Exes & Whys’ is a project that offers a fresh update to Indian R&B soundscape and is supported with features by artists such as Bangladeshi-born Queens rapper Big Baby Gandhi. With this EP, So Fire well and truly establishes himself as one of the country’s most exciting new producers, deftly handling the vocal textures of both Rolex and Shayan while showcasing a flair for off-kilter, jazz-infused sonic landscapes.

The Kannur-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Sharan Jayan, operating under the So Fire moniker, has an innate ability to create vivid, evolving sonic landscapes with precision - borrowing in small parts from the processes of pioneering modern-day producers such as Kanye West, Bon Iver, James Blake, Mixed by Ali and others. A stalwart in the state’s local film industry, Jayan finally debuts his personal projects, made in collaboration with American-Tamil sensation Rolex Rasathy and Mumbai-based rapper Shayan Roy, later this year.
