If your idea of a perfect weekend involves laying on the grass, listening to stories, or singing along with a guitar, then the third edition of Spoken Fest by Kommune powered by Spotify, is definitely the place to go.

The festival line-up will see an array of performers such as The Local Train, Rohan Joshi, Mithila Palkar, Faye D’souza, Varun Grover, and Peter Cat Recording Co. among many others. At Spoken, you will get to see a completely different side to these artists, as they share stories that range from quirky and hilarious to brave and vulnerable.

This festival is meant for anyone and everyone - families, friends, and is an especially engaging experience for all those who’d rather ride solo. 

Spoken Fest is primarily a festival of words, but words express themselves in different ways - through music and poetry, through rhythms and rhymes, through comedy and chronicles and now through podcasts - and in a festival like this, there is something for At Spoken, the power of words will be explored in a variety of ways. Thus, you will get a chance to see well-known actors such as Mithila Palkar and Amol Parashar break the wall between themselves and their audience, as they tell stories from their lives; and at the same time, you will get to see music by Spitfire and Sumit Roy, who express themselves through relentless, powerful rap; and, of course, you will hear some of the country’s best spoken word poets, such as Gaurav Tripathi and Megha Rao, express themselves through their art.

Spotify is also coming to Spoken fest this year with a whole lot of exciting opportunities for creators! Creators can record their first podcast on Anchor and win a chance to get it produced by Spotify. There are workshops with the Gurus of Podcasting Roshan Abbas and Gaurav Kapur and by Anchor who will guide creators on how to optimise and monetize their podcasts.

As a festival that encourages people to connect in a deeper, more meaningful way, Spoken also houses a number of experiences such as the Blind Book Date, Kahaani Ki Dukaan, #LetsTalkToStrangers among many others.

What better way to kick off 2020 than to come together to experience the magic of words and dive deep into an ocean full of stories? A full service food court will serve up local grub, offering respite and refueling between workshops and performances. Sip chai on a charpoy or grab a beer and unwind, allowing all those words to marinate.
