Music from Goa always sounds good. And Goan singer Neil D’cruz adds his melody and lyrics to make his owns songs sound really nice.
Neil found his musical roots at the age of 6 and grew up listening to pop rock and jazz, inspiring him to develop a passion for singing at a young age. His father gifted him his first musical instrument at the age of 10, a moment he knew would define his future. He went on to complete his eight grade in vocals, from Rock School, Trinity College London. At the age of 18 he took to music professionally in Goa and beyond borders across the Middle East.
Together as One written and produced by D’cruz expresses how love is the answer and the only thing worth fighting for, a true weapon to stop wars and bring people together. The Goan singer, songwriter and vocal trainer released his first single on his newly launched YouTube channel which spells a message for a safer and more equal world.
The video for Together as One was filmed in the quaint small town of Carmona in Goa. It showcases the pain the country went through where he pours emotion into the song touching upon the tough trails and tribulation the country faced. The beautiful mellow piano tunes and guitar lines articulate each note sung by the singer, providing a perfect vehicle to the video accompanying the track.
A dedicated music teacher for over a decade, Together as One was written in his classroom after been enthused by his students who he believes are the future to a peaceful world. The lyrics mirror the current situation and addresses the bitter truth of religion which has claimed lives and left the world in distress. The original is unique and culturally rich in its own way with a strong message of togetherness.
On his first single and inspiration behind the song he states, “Music has been everything to me - memories, heartbreak, love, happiness, achievement. Playing music has always been about playing ‘life’. We are in a different stage of life in the world and the one thing that can hold us together is love. I wanted my first original to be a song that people feel connected and inspired to change the world. Religion is the biggest divide and the future is in the hands of our young ones who will one day rule the world.”
Though he shines on stage as a state-wide superstar, he is also, unlocking the potential of his students and motivating them to produce original music. Two years ago, Neil launched a project ‘Uncut Diamonds’ to identify talent in children across Goa and promote these young stars who have captivated audiences across the globe under his musical arm.
Neil will also be releasing his second original track next month.
