Left Turn is a Hindi pop rock band formed in 2019. In the last one year, they have released three singles and have been spending a whole load of time in the studio working on new material. They were also featured on musicunplugged.in in 2019 when they released their debut single Dil Mera.
As an important part of the independent music scene in the country, they recently released a bold track with a bold title Fuck It. This track is about that moment when you finally decide to move on from a toxic relationship. The song was conceptualized on an entirely new theme to bring this thought to life, by shooting a music video using toys.
A brilliant idea for a video, using toys as subjects, with the ending slides mentioning, ‘No Toys were harmed in the making of this video’ and All the toys were donated to the Underpriviledged’. The band consists of four members, all of whom play music for a living, bringing together rich experiences and varied sounds from their independent exploits. All the guys in the video as props seem ot be having a fun time. There’s Jairaj Joshi on Drums, Suraag Subedhar on Vocals / Guitar, Sasmit Rudra on Keys and Reagan D’mello on Bass guitar.
As a band, they have decided to add purpose to their music and have associated with ‘Shelter Don Bosco’, a home for roofless and rootless children at Dadar. They spend a lot of time with the children there, playing for them and teaching them music. Sometime back, as mentioned above they donated all the toys used in the video to them. They also played a series of office gigs and collected toys in return, these were also handed over to the kids. They intend to build on this association with the home as they go along.
Their first single Dil Mera was released by Universal Music with Sterling Music Project, after which they came up with Tu Mere Paas, their second single released independently. Left Turn was formed from an undying restlessness to create original music. While new technology drives their music production, they also believe in old school techniques and all this comes alive at the recording studio. The four are a talented bunch with catchy songs.
All three songs have one thing in common – very melodious compositions, soulful music, beautiful lyrics and soothing vocals. As for the cinematography, its top class.
The band plan to launch their debut album later this year. Can’t wait to hear them again.
