Roshni is the latest single by new-age electronica artist SickFlip, popular producer/singer Ritviz and India’s finest hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut and is a collaboration like no other, which has lead to a track that is as much a dance floor favourite as it is a message of hope.
This amalgamation of Ritviz’s Indian classically trained vocals combined with SickFlip’s organic approach towards production, topped with Seedhe Maut’s poignant verse has created a track that feels like a warm embrace.
Even though each of the artists is expressing their anxieties and insecurities through this song, it’s a symphony of bittersweet emotional high and lows. The highly anticipated release finds itself in a unique electronica meets rap meets Hindi crossover space. Originally dropped by the trio last year at festivals including One Plus Festival and NH7 Weekender, the track has finally seen the light of day on Friday, June 19th.
A feel-good track that’s easy to love, the accompanying video produced by Mumbai’s acclaimed production house, The Outbox Project – is loosely based on the positive message that there is always a ray of light waiting to illuminate even the darkest of days. While the song is a swirly ride through the minds of the artists, the video personifies the turmoil in Roshni who tugs the viewer along on her journey to find the light she’s lost.
