Mumbaiite brings the pain of the Coronavirus pandemic in cover song

Sharon Menezes, a professional singer hailing from Mumbai made a cover song of Kaisi paheli zindagani on YouTube that depicts the current situation of the country. The video has a series of pictures that is relatable to everyone suffering from this Covid-19 pandemic. It was uploaded on 2nd July, 2020 on her YouTube channel. The song was recorded on an iphone with a backing track in the background.

The lyrics of the song are a metaphor for all the things which has changed due to lockdown and how people's lives have been affected.  It also portrays the downfall of the economy as well as struggles of the migrating labourers.

Menezes has been singing professionally for a long time with various music bands and has done many live shows. She has plans to make more videos and upload it on YouTube and Instagram. "The lockdown is helping me record more songs because I have more time in hand. This pandemic has given us a break to really work on our talents and skills. We were really busy earlier in our day-to-day life and we really didn't had much time to reflect our talent" says Menezes.

Menezes was always passionate about singing. She started doing live gigs and soon became a recognized singer that the audience enjoys. She's also a keyboard player and she is inspired by Ella Fitzgerald and Sara Watkins. She advises young singer,'' Practice a lot, do experiment with your music, just have fun and stay safe ''.
