Music has its own language and binds people together around the world. This stands apt for music duo Shree D- IsshQ who created magic with their music worldwide.
Originally from Canada, multi talented IshQ Bector burst onto the Indian music with his single “Aye hip hopper” in 2008 which turned out to be a smashing hit. He was not only inspired by AR Rahman, Wu-Tang Clan & DR Dre but also by Bollywood and 90’s hip hop and went on to compose some mind blowing tracks. He further worked with music directors like Pritam, Himesh Reshamiya, Anu Malik, Vishal Shekhar & Sajid Wajid and kept the magic going. This talented artist not only gave music but also sang for movies like Bheja Fry 2, Race and Ugly aur Pagli. His albums “Aye hip hopper, Dakku Daddy, Bhoot/Jhagde and Salli Bitch/Sifar/ Happy Singh” gained massive recognition for its foot taping music and lyrics. He gave background score for Discovery USA (Culture Shock), Channel V (India’s Hottest), MTV (Jingle Bell Gujurati/Tamil). He also gave the title music for TV Shows like UTV Bindass (Big Switch/ Date Trap 2/ Sun Yaar Chill Maar) and Channel V (Axe Your Ex). Apart from music he is a trained sports rehabilitation therapist, dancer and a gymnast.
Born in Banaras, Shree D excels in classical music and has been associated with the industry past 12 years. His passion for music was inspired by legends such as Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi and Michael Jackson. It was not only singing for him as he created a niche as a voice artist and mimicked some famous personalities too. Shree D co-composed the title track for Always Kabhi Kabhi, the Red Chillies banner film.
Shree D – IsshQ was born in 2010 with the partnership of two very different types of music. They collaborated to compose, write, produce and design sound for bundles of songs. Their unique blend of abilities lends itself to a diverse range of music for Bollywood films, albums, ads, jingles and TV shows. They also directed various songs, promos, title tracks and background score in various languages such as Hindi, English, French, Punjabi, Indian Regional languages.
They won many accolades and honors for their outstanding compositions. Their album ‘Aye Hip Hopper ‘ climbed up to the #1 in Bombay Times Mirchi charts and they also won the MTV Jingle Bell award for the best sound design of the year for animation by MTV/Nickelodeon. Also their album Saali Bitch was nominated for best music direction of the year (2012) by PTC.
The duo recently collaborated to compose and sing the title track of Abhinay Kashyap’s Besharam starring Ranbir Kapoor which will be releasing in October. They are also composing some tracks for Ram Gopal Verma’s “Satya 2” and have done the music for Karan Veer Bohra’s punjabi film “love you soniye” also due this september.
