Indian music distribution company announces weekly donations towards COVID relief

In these troubled times, when tens of thousands of people are struggling for oxygen, basic medical amenities, food and more, OKListen has decided to donate its earnings from distribution charges to the Donate for Oxygen fundraiser on Milaap.org.

The fundraiser will benefit Swasth Digital Health Foundation along with ACT Grants who are trying to procure oxygen concentrators and channel them to hospitals across levels of care in remote areas for COVID response and long-term health system strengthening.

The Music For A Cause campaign began on 30th April 2021, and will go on until the situation demands.

For as long as the donation campaign is on, OKListen will donate 3 times the revenue generated from the distribution fees independent artists are required to pay for releasing their music via the platform. Put simply, for every release paid for by the artist, OKListen will donate thrice that amount to the fundraiser. The donations will be made weekly. In order to execute this campaign sustainably, OKListen will cap its contribution at INR 50,000 per month. Payments from artists will continue to be donated to the fundraiser once OKListen hits its cap.

OKListen, founded in 2012, is the biggest homegrown music distribution company catering to independent musicians and labels, helping them release their music on all Indian and international streaming platforms.
