Third Culture Entertainment recently launched Export Quality Records – their very own record label. With this new endeavour, the company is doing everything to shine a spotlight on Indian music, that is fresh music that is no less Indian for its lack of Indian instrumentation. Through this outlet, they will be serving up music that knows neither genres nor borders. Export Quality - contemporary Indian music that deserves an audience, not just here in India, but across the globe.
TCE was set up with the sole purpose of using their network and expertise within the music industry to take their artists’ careers to the next level. Having started out as music management, TCE has grown to incorporate event production into their repertoire – culminating in hosting music festival, Neon East Fest in 2019, bringing down acts like Mura Masa and Little Dragon to perform right in the heart of Mumbai. Over the years, they have also incorporated mastering and distribution facilitation, helping artists add that final polish to their work before delivering it to the largest possible audience globally.
“Third Culture has always strived to enable the exchange of art across borders - whether through our management clients, the festivals we produce, as well as the international artists we've toured across India. Over the years, we've distributed countless records as an add-on service to our management clients. Now, with Export Quality Records, we enter our next chapter - attempting to build a vehicle for the export of contemporary Indian music, across genres to a much wider global audience.” - Tej Brar (Export Quality Records).
At Export Quality Records, there is no predetermined formula and there are no boundaries – they listen to everything. Whether it’s highlighting brand new artists or treading into new terrain with veterans, each release will be unique and tailored to what best serves the music. Their first release, the debut album by Chennai-based producer pelle, drops later this month - stay tuned.
