25th August, 2021Following the chart-busting success of his acclaimed score and title track for the Bollywood film ‘Toofaan’ alongside Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, Tubby is set for his next release Jaane Dil Ko.
After Tubby’s 30-year-old deep dive into composing Bollywood film scores, independent tracks, and songs across various genres, he’s set to bring ashore his music excellence to the indie-pop scene.
The upcoming EP is a compilation of 2 songs; the original sung by Tubby and the remix, in which he is heard pairing up with Pallak Ranka; a singer-songwriter and composer of her own accord.
Jaane Dil Ko (JDK) is an easy listening Hindi song that talks of love and heartache and promises a trip down memory lane, reminding the listener about the love lost. Its heartwarming lyrics by Sonam Saini adds to the mood of plaintive, yet surreal melody by Tubby. Even the JDK’s duet remix featuring singer-songwriter Pallak Ranka is an audacious statement of Tubby’s intent to continue experimenting with the vast sound-scape and to sonically diversify.
The official music video starring model actress Minal Mogam, better known for her character as Kinnari Karmakar of Pavitra Rishta; is written (story and screenplay) and directed by Kunal Mehta, an award winning Sound Designer with over 20 years’ experience in the film industry working on films like Bhoot, Company, Sarkar, Rajneeti, Hindi Medium, Ramleela and Ek Villan, to name just a few. Kunal makes his directorial debut with JDK.
The Director of photography - Kaustubh Joshi is a Pune based self-taught photographer, cinematographer and musician. Having worked with renowned musicians and composers with over 10 years of experience, Kaustubh has developed an expertise in capturing the exact emotion behind every note through the lens. His adept knowledge of music and photography has rendered a reminiscent magicaltouch to JDK, that makes the song a visual treat.
The EP was recorded at Click Studios by Rupak Thakur and released via Tubby’s home record label INKK Audio and distributed by Ingrooves.
