Fear, uncertainty and sufferings are the words that often come to one’s mind when someone mentions the word ‘cancer’. However, there is more to cancer struggle- journey of a fighting spirit, determination, positive attitude of cancer patients that needs to be recognized and celebrated.

Hence, to spread positivity, motivate them and celebrate the fearless spirit of the cancer patients the Indian Cancer Society – India’s first voluntary, non-profit organization has released an inspiring song Main Lad Lunga, in partnership with noted artist, Amit Trivedi today. The virtual launch event was attended by cancer survivors, oncologists and members of the Indian Cancer Society.

This initiative was co-created by Indian Cancer Society and Music Director, Amit Trivedi. The song is a dedication to the many inspirational stories of cancer survivors, and perfectly captures the essence. The video Main Lad Lunga features one such story of a young boy, a cancer survivor who is determined to learn how to walk, despite various odds including cancer and partial amputation. The video ends with a heartwarming message of hardwork and determination can move mountains, which is symbolically represented by the boy’s action towards the end.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Trustee of Indian Cancer Society, Naveen Kshatriya, said “We are very happy to partner with a noted artist like Amit Trivedi to drive this initiative, which is a reiteration of the support and care that the Indian Cancer Society aims to provide to the cancer patient. This special message of hope and fearless spirit that the patients embody is very close to our heart. We hope this song further encourages patients and survivors across India to go along their valiant journey of struggle, as we promise to be with them every step of the way.”

On his partnership with the Indian Cancer Society, Music Composer and Singer Amit Trivedi said, “I’m happy and proud to collaborate with the Indian Cancer Society for such a noble cause. The song ‘Main Lad Lunga’ is dedicated to all the cancer survivors who never lost hope and believed in themselves. I’m sure that the video will inspire many cancer patients in their ongoing fight against cancer.”

Indian Cancer Society has been undertaking innovative initiatives to spread awareness on cancer prevention and detection. One of their recent initiatives involved actors like Suniel Shetty and Sonali Bendre coming forward to encourage cancer patients to continue their treatment in the new normal (unlock phase).

The Indian Cancer Society (ICS) was founded in 1951 by Dr. DJ Jussawala and Mr. Naval Tata as India’s first non-profit organization for cancer. The activities of Indian Cancer Society encompass the entire continuum of cancer care, cancer awareness, screeningfor early detection, and financial help for treatment, support groups, rehabilitation of cancer survivors, medical research and education including registry.
