Recently, Ranj and Clifr released their latest single, Conversation. This soul-driven track lays down a marker - a calling card for the hip-hop/R&B duo and a concrete demonstration of their skills as artists. While presenting an earworm of a vocal pop melody in the chorus, RANJ also highlights her immense capabilities as a rapper by weaving in a lyrical parley in her verses.

The song lends relevance to itself with Clifr’s robust instrumentation, as he oscillates the beat from traditional high-hats, to lush piano samples that represent the producer’s distinctly wide range of musicality. The music video, directed and conceptualized by Sashank Manohar aka Gherkinzz, is a stylized representation of the song’s dance with the idea of first interactions; waiting for the other to initiate a conversation while hoping you can build up the confidence to do it yourself.

Ranjani Ramadoss aka Ranj is a Chennai-bred musician currently based out of Bangalore. After making music and playing frequent shows with her 2 bands –Kelvikkuri (jazz fusion) and Paula And The Associates (neo-soul/pop) - for a couple of years, RANJ is her solo project, launched in 2021. As she carves her identity into the indie music space, she tells her stories in English and Tamil, and builds versatility with every release, each occupying a different musical and lyrical space than the last. She is influenced by a wide range of artists from Jorja Smith, Yebba, Cleo Sol and Jhene Aiko to rappers like Little Simz, Smino, No Name and BIA.

Being trained for over 12 years in Carnatic music and another 4+ years in Opera gives RANJ a unique set of tools to be able to seamlessly transition from working on Carnatic fusion one day, to a 4-on-the-floor pop melody the next. She holds on to this duality in her music, aspiring to showcase and celebrate her roots while also making music for a global audience.

Clifr is a Bangalore based musician, playing the role of a music producer and multi Instrumentalist. For the past two years he's been working with his band Kelvikkuri a jazz fusion ensemble based out of his home city, and on his solo music career as well. Clifr released his debut solo project in 2020 State ‘O’ Mind feat. Lojal followed by the EP 593 Vol.1 with Ranj. His musical identity is a mixed influence of hip-hop and trap while he experiments with Indian instrumentals and continues to expand on his innate talent at collaborating with a wide range of musicians. With 14 years of experience being a multi instrumentalist and a few years of training in western classical music. Clifr uses these techniques in his musical arrangement to bring out a fresh sound.
