Multi Grammy Award winner and UNICEF acknowledged Environmentalist, Ricky Kej was in Mumbai to receive the prestigious Shyam Munshi Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.
Ricky Kej has been gracing red carpets since January 2022, for all the right reasons. From his Grammy win in Las Vegas to his Cannes Red Carpet, where he promoted sustainable clothing, he is indeed a spokesperson for a better world.
The Awards ceremony was held at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Colaba Ballroom on 30th August 2022. Ricky was presented the Award by President Vineet Bhatnagar, Rotary Club of Bombay (Managing Director & CEO at Phillip Capital India).
About the Award Ricky says, "It is an honour to be here with the prestigious Rotary Club of Bombay members. This particular club is iconic. It is over 90 years old. Adding to this moment is this iconic structure we are in, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. Rotary has been doing some amazing work all over the world when it comes to so many things. Social Service, Pulse Polio programme and much more. The Rotary Club of Bombay takes a leadership role in this and I feel absolutely privileged to be here."

The prestigious Shyam Munshi Award is one of 11 Awards that the Rotary Club of Bombay bestows each year. The Award is being given to Ricky because of his immense success as a Musician and his power as an ambassador of sustainability and the environment.
The awardee stated, "To win the Shyam Munshi Award from Rotary CLub of Bombay is a huge honour as it is an acknowledgement of both my work in music and as an environmentalist. For me music and environment has always been one and the same. Music started off from within nature and it is only for the last 1000 years that music has actually become academic. It has always been one and the same as nature."
