Known as the Adele of Mumbai, singer – songwriter Mallika Mehta recently released her 9th single But Tonight I Wanna Cry, a song that predominantly gives out party vibes with contrasting deep lyrics. It's a song you would dance to in a club as well as vibe to on a long drive.
The supremely talented Mehta also became a Times Square girl when she got featured on the Nasadaq billboard in New York city for her song was also featured But Tonight I Wanna Cry, an opporuntity a few can ever imagine, but for the hardwork that Mehta puts in, it was truly well deserved. Says a delighted Mehta, “My team and I have put our heart and souls into this song, working tirelessly to meet insane deadlines. The song is so much more than just a song to me. I know it helped me heal and that’s what I wish it does for you all.”
But Tonight I Wanna Cry is based on the emotion one feels when they are getting over someone and have slowly moved on. The changes being visible and clear. But whilst that process there is always that one weak moment, that one night when it all comes back to you, when you miss their words, their voice and deeply feel their void. This song brilliantly portrays the emotional maelstrom and vulnerability of a breakup.
Inundated with feelings of loss of that relationship one feels life is upended, no matter how strong you are. At that time, you feel like the pain wouldn't let you survive and so on that night all you really want to do is cry.
