On behalf of Atharva School of Fine Arts. Smt Shamal and Vishal Pawar organised the Praramb- Bharata Natyam Arangetram of their daughter on the afternoon of Sunday 18th September 2022 at the Mysore Association auditorium, Matunga. The debut performance is of vital importance, as after years of rigorous training, the student ascends the stage in order to render her debut performance, while seeking the blessings of the Almighty, the mentors, elders and everybody in the audience, for a successful performance.
Sandili Pawar is a brilliant science student, securing high grades. Sandili commenced her initial training, under the guidance of her mother and mentor, Guru Shamal Pawar. Besides Bharata Natyam Sandili has learnt folk dances and has already performed on several occasions, she is also learning Hindustani vocal music and is interested in reading and drawing as well. Sandili has scored first class from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, from Prarambik till Visharad Pratham. Along with the Atharva group, Sandili has performed in Italy, Thailand and Mauritius, besides several performances for varied festivals in India. Sandili is also seeking guidance from the veteran mentor Guru S.P. Srinivasan
Sandili performed eight items from the Bharata natyam repertoire, commencing with Ganesha Kautavam and concluding with the intricate Amrutavarshini Thillana, Sandili was quite enthusiastic in her performance and performed the varied dances with effortless ease and precision with numbers like the Navarasa Varnam, Padam and Thillana. The highlight item of the program was the number Abhang in praise of Lord Vitthal.
Sandili aspires to become a geologist but that will not deter her passion for dance. Sandili's mother, Smt Shamal is trained in Bharata Natyam and folk dance, for more than two decades, Shamal has been devoted to this field. Academically Shamal is a law graduate and an HR professional and holds a masters degree in Bharata Natyam from Tamil University.
Sandili recieved fine orchestral support from her mother and mentor Guru Shamal Pawar, vocal by Keerthana Krishnamurthy. mridangam by Prajesh Nair and violin by Ramkrishna Sarma. The anchors for the program were Lakshmi Ananthanarayan in English and Tirtha Patange in Marathi. The guests of the evening were Bharata Natyam exponents and mentors, Indumati Raman and Lata Surendra, former mayor Snehal Ambekar, Kuchipudi exponent Guru Vijay Shanker, and Folk dance mentor Sadanand Rane.
