Starting the year on a musical note, actor, singer, music composer, and writer Piyush Mishra is all set to embark on an all-India tour, Aarambh, with his band Ballimaaraan. The tour is the first of its kind in Mishra's musical journey, which has been presented and curated by Tamboo.

The tour will commence on 14^th January in Chandigarh, from where the band will travel to Pune to perform on 21^st January. They will go on to perform in around 20 cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Vadodara, Delhi, and Ahmedabad, among others.

“I am looking forward to Aarambh; this is a first for the band. The songs are a mix of old and new, some of which have been written and composed specifically for the tour. I just can't wait for the audience to listen and enjoy them," says Piyush Mishra. 

 The band was formed in 2016 with just three people, including Mishra. Over the years, Ballimaaraan has grown one band member at a time, with each musician bringing with them a unique style and charm.

They have performed genre-bending songs like Ik Bagal, Ghar, Duniya, Bas Chal Kapat, Aarambh Hai Prachand, Husna, Uth Ja Bhau, and many more.

Their music feels like an engaging conversation that is straight from the heart. Moreover, all the songs were penned and composed by Mishra during his theater days.

Not just that, the band's fusion of retro with contemporary tunes gives each song a youthful composition. Be it Aarambh hai Prachand, or Ik Bagal, the songs have a certain expression and depth of emotion that make people laugh, dance, and ponder. 

“The compositions are much like the songs from Bollywood films before 1965. Every song contains a message or satire. Most importantly, while writing, composing, and singing, we have made sure that the songs don’t merely remain limited to being the medium of a message but also have a breathtaking melody to them,” adds Mishra.

Many of the songs have developed cult followings over time due to their deeper resonance with the youth. The songs performed by them are an amalgamation of various emotions and genres of music. 

As for the name of the band, Ballimaaraan, it is a musical homage to Mirza Ghalib. The name is inspired by the very lanes of Old Delhi where the bard once lived.
