Acclaimed singer-songwriter Nikhil D’Souza released his new single Socho - a song about the inner turmoil and introspection you go through when you’re trying to understand why every relationship, though seemingly promising at the start, inevitably breaks down in the end.
After huge success from his last release, Mausam haipyaar the title track from ‘Modern Love Mumbai’, Nikhil gets a bit upbeat with Socho. Produced by Aditya Ashok with lyrics from longtime collaborator Pinky Poonawala, this new track will make you groove while taking you through your own inner journey with deep sing along lyrics.
Talking about his music and this new release, Nikhil D’souza said, “This year will see a whole lot of new music from me. At a time when indie music from the country is making world waves, I will continue to play my part to further this. With Socho I have pushed my comfort zone and refreshed my sound a bit adding a layer of pop beats that makes this track melancholic and groovy at the same time”.
Socho is about the choice one makes to be alone rather than risk the chance of being with someone new. It talks about the bits that hold you back from committing to someone new given that you haven’t healed from the previous one. And despite fears you give it a try, only to see it break down again in a pattern that’s all too familiar.
Socho is out now on all streaming platforms. Listen to the track here;
