On 18^th January, 2023 a musical event Yaadon Ki Bahar was conducted by Dr. Mukesh Batra to raise funds for Shepherd Widows Home  at Y.B. Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Mumbai.

This was the 11th edition of the event, and the first after a two-year hiatus due to COVID. The event was graced by the humble presence of Roop Kumar Rathod , a renowned music director and singer as the chief guest who has performed  plethora of songs in Hindi, Nepali, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil ,Oriya, Bengali and Kannada films.

This annual concert was started to lend support to the residents of Shepherd Widows Home , managed by Bishop of Mumbai – CNI. The institution takes care of over 30 old widows and provides them with free accommodation, medical treatment and other requirements. Dr.Batra has been linked with Shepherd’s Widows Home for the past 30 years and provides free lifetime treatment to the residents.

Dr Mukesh Batra kicked off the occasion by one of his famous quotes “Agar dil khol lete yaaron ke saath toh naa khulwana padta hathiyaaron ke saath” and him thanking Indian music for providing the industry with such serene melodies.

The musical event began with two wonderful songs (Abhi mujhmein kahin and Sandese aate hain) performed by his grandson Hriman Batra as a tribute to Roop Kumar Rathod. Everyone in the crowd was immersed in the show and had a fantastic time. Later, Dr. Mukesh Batra observed a moment of silence to commemorate the 76th death anniversary of K.L Saigal. As a homage to the late vocalist, he sang one of his songs' relaxing raags, Bhairavi and Yaman which clearly reflects the knowledge Dr. Batra has about music and how he has devoted himself to the craft.

As the evening progressed, Dr. Mukesh Batra sang one of Kishore Kumar's most beautiful songs (Aa Chalke Tujhe), which captivated the crowd. Dr. Batra sang songs from the golden days which featured some of his favourite singers such as Mukesh, Hemant Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Talab Mehmood and Jagjit Singh. His amazing vocals were accompanied by the soulful music from the musicians who have been working in the industry for more than three decades.

During the interval, a representative from Shepherd Widows Home thanked Dr. Batra Positive Health Foundation Pvt. Ltd. for his contributions to the NGO and wished him well in the future. The event's chief guest reminisced about his 45-year friendship with Dr. Batra. Throughout the evening, he expressed his emotions and indicated that he was nostalgic.

During the show, Dr. Batra introduced the Homeopathy physicians' hymn. Sanjay Raj, Gauri Nandan ji, Dr. Rajesh Joshi, and Karim Shaikh penned the inspiring song, while Dr. Batra, Rahul, and Mahalaxmi sang.

The CD of the song will be distributed for free to all homoeopathic physicians and colleges in order to popularise homoeopathy. Not only did everyone appreciate the song but also resonated with it which made it even more special. People from almost every age group could be seen enjoying and dancing to the songs of yesteryear .The evening not only supported the widows financially, but it also was helpful to fill the void in their hearts, allowing them to enjoy life a little more after having suffered so much in their lives.This event honours their souls as well as the money that will be donated to them. The annual event is looked forward by the music lovers and the beautiful souls of widow home .

As the evening drew to a conclusion, he summarised the event with a significant remark which states "Kadam Chum Leti Hai Manzile Aakar, Agar Raahi Khud Apni Himmat Na Haare". He told the young thatif you have a strong passion and persevere in honing your craft, you can achieve anything in the world.
