With comparisons to Shawn Mendes early in his career, Aryan Julka’s vocal texture and tonality has enabled him to quickly rise to fame, garner a strong fan base, sign a record deal with Gseven Records (a subdivision of FYEO) and over 2 million streams across all platforms.
Well supported by various blogs like Rolling Stones and National and International Radio Stations like Radio Indigo, the 19-year-old has established his niche as a pop artist.
His collaboration on Running with Grammy Nominated Producer Spec Turner, who has production credits from Megan Thee Stallion, Whitney Houston and many more top artists, is a testimony to the potential that he possesses.
The singer-songwriter, who continues delivering pop hits like Love In Dystopia, Already Gone, Airport, and About You, is slowly transitioning into pop punk. Seeking inspiration from Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Jxdn, Blink-182 and Green Day, he’s on his way to reviving pop-punk. His debut attempt at the same with a 2 track project ‘Pretend’ was an instant hit among fans, garnering close to 400k streams to date.
His latest Pop-Punk single, Mess It Up with Vivaan Taneja, a grade 8 drummer from Trinity College Of London, releases on 14th April 2023. Produced by Hitesh at Trifecta Records, the song incorporates all live instruments from the guitars to the drums, and given the scarcity of Indian pop-punk acts, this song is a must on your playlist.
Packed with punchy guitars, hard hitting drums and a catchy hook Mess It Up breathes fresh air into the pop-punk scene.
“The song starts with an impactful drum fill and subsequently, an easy-to-follow guitar riff and powerful na na nas enter together. Guitar bends, drum rolls, and a solid intro to the song follow this. Gradually the fast-paced song transitions into the verse, a very melodic chorus, and a memorable hook. Post the second chorus, you expect the hook to come back, but here's where the song completely changes. Beautiful guitar melodies and a marching snare enter, and move into the build-up section, where the song peaks. The build-up ends with a long, Travis Barkeresque drum fill. The song enters into halftime, where the listener gets left with no choice but to start to head bang and thus end the song on a high.” says the singer about his song,
Written by Aryan Julka and Garv Chandalia, the song talks about how people struggle to move on from hardships and trauma in life; but when they finally do, they're afraid to mess up and lose it all again. “It embodies a solid message to keep faith in yourself when a new beginning or opportunity strikes at the door and believe you won't mess it up” points out the Delhi based singer.
With a sound similar to Machine Gun Kelly, Green Day, and JXDN, the Indian duo of Aryan Julka on vocals and Vivaan Taneja on drums has created a fiery track that will compel you to leave everything aside and move your head along.
Overall, the single boasts quality production, impressive vocal processing and a high-end master by Hitesh. It bangs and is a perfect fit for punk and rock enthusiasts and, of course, your gym playlists. And as Aryan puts it, its “an anthem for everyone who's had to start over”.
Aryan’s versatility is what sets him apart from a lot of artists. He can hop onto a pop, trap, punk, acoustic or an indie track and still nail it. And now that he has also released his debut Hindie project, ‘Heart Like Yours’ the future only seems bright for the artist from here.
Aryan has been featured on various print and online media platforms with his songs available on all social media platforms too.
