Singer-songwriter Anuv Jain who is known for his unique storytelling through his music has released his tenth single titled Antariksh. The song is a momentary departure from his usual soundscape of simple melodies to a more mature sound accompanied by a different singing style.

The lyrics of the song follow the story of a person, unable to express his deepest feelings to another; he finds himself able to open his heart when he practises in front of the mirror, but words fail to reach the intended.

Marking his tenth single, Anuv still reflects on the gentleness and depth in his songs. He prides himself on his exceptional wordplay and storytelling skills, and this song is just an ode to the skills he’s honed. The music video is a deep introspection into the protagonist’s mind and beautifully captures the feelings expressed in the song through the use of several elements that throw light on its core meaning. It is also the very first time Anuv is seen acting in one of his music videos, truly challenging himself as an artist with this song.

Sharing his thoughts on his new release, Anuv says, “I’ve always wanted to write a song with this sound, which challenges my pedigree as a songwriter, while still keeping the essence of what people associate my music to. While this song dips into a new genre for me to explore, it still has all the elements synonymous with my music, from the storytelling and lyrical play to the guitar tunes. Moreover, this is also the first time I have acted in one of my music videos so I’m really excited and nervous at the same time for people to see me in a new form. Considering this song is so different from my other songs and it is my tenth single, I just knew I had to be a part of it this time.”

Elaborating on the music video of the song, Anuv adds, “Every verse of the song depicts a significant object in the video – the mirrors, the clones, the statues; all of whom are just a part of the recurring loop that I’m stuck in. It is only in the end, do I walk towards a door, indicative of a possible escape from this loop. But do we open it and get out, or stay trapped in this loop forever, is the final question.”

The song is made available across all leading streaming platforms along with a music video released on the official YouTube channel of the artist.
