This monsoon Nihira Joshi-Deshpande has released a romantic song alongside ace guitarist and music producer Rhythm Shaw and poet and lyricist Alok Ranjan Srivastava, titled Toote Chhaate.
Toote Chhaate tries to narrate a story of a couple that enjoys a rainy evening together under one broken umbrella. It paints the range of all the emotions and sentiments that they feel and experience through the process. The song manages to take you down the memory-lane and make you reminisce and cherish some precious moments of your life.
The ideation of the song began with Nihira composing a couplet from the Instagram page of Alok and they further developed and elaborated it into a full song with more verses. Rhythm Shaw came on board and created a very fresh, contemporary soundscape for the song using instruments like the Guitar, the Piano, the Bass, the Drums.
The song has interesting vocal arrangements and layers designed by Rhythm and executed by Nihira. It also has a video created by Barun Roy comprising of illustrations and some amount of animation that contributes to the story-telling of the song. It has been recorded at the ‘Audio Garage studios, Mumbai and Rhythm Shaw’s home studio. The mixing and mastering has been done by Amey Londhe.
Says Nihira “Since the central-theme of the song is the rain and romance, August felt like the appropriate period to release it . I have been receiving a lot of positive comments from the listeners about the song. Many of them can relate to the words and the melody of the song. They are loving the contemporary and fresh arrangements that represent the rainfall.”
