At just 17 years old, Jewel Lasrado is a remarkably talented singer-songwriter who embarked on her musical journey at a tender age. Hailing from the vibrant city of Bangalore, India, she has already made a significant mark in the music scene. Jewel's passion for songwriting and her ability to convey emotions through her music are truly exceptional.

To date, Jewel Lasrado has released an impressive catalog of five singles that have garnered attention and admiration from fans and critics alike. What makes her music even more captivating is the visual storytelling that accompanies it. Most of her music videos are skillfully directed by the dynamic duo of Gladwin Pinto and Raushan Jha, adding an extra layer of depth to her artistic expression.

She recently released her latest work Six Feet Under. When she composed the song, she had no intention of releasing it. She wrote it simply because the lightning of inspiration struck and it tended to fizzle away in the blink of an eye. It was too precious to waste. And so it happened on the fateful night when she re-watched 'The Godfather'. Vito Corleone, the original Godfather of the family, faced a close encounter with death when he was shot. She drew inspiration from this scene to capture his emotions and thoughts in a written piece. After a bit of character sketching, she concluded that this man was ego-driven and too proud to admit his faults or apologize.

“He had constructed a fortress around himself to intimidate those around him, but within its walls, he grappled with guilt and dissatisfaction” says singer referring to Vito Corleone. The song has garnered huge volumes of appreciation and to date has been getting a lot of views on all social media handles.

Six Feet Under is a soft and slow rock song that revolves around the concept of guilt transcending mortality. It is from the perspective of a person who is on his deathbed and regretting his mistakes and things he could have done right in his life.

Lasrado structured the song as if he were writing a letter to those he had wronged in his life before his death. She composed the words over an interesting chord progression she had discovered while playing around with a few chords. She believed this song to be her magnum opus.

Lasrado adds “I got inspired by Vito Corleone from the Godfather. While he was a ruthless and calculating man, he had the traits of a loyal and loving character which made him a contradiction in the Godfather. I imagined him to have been a person who regrets mistakes from his past but who is too iron willed and pompous to admit have done those mistakes as long as he walked this earth. This guilty nature has been a core concept in the song and helped me to understand the human traits associated with a character like his”
