Ravi Iyer, a guitar player and composer / lyricist, has been part of the independent music Industry past 3 decades and is well-known for his rock and fusion compositions. His compositions are more than usually influenced and inspired by real life experiences. His topics are usually to do with politics, social issues, introspection and philosophical thinking. And he always strives to bring these elements through his music.

It was the year 1971 when Ravi Iyer was about 4 years old, is when he experienced a blackout in the city of Mumbai during the 1971 India-Pak war. He yet remembers the night when there was a public address to switch off the lights due to a war plane crossing.  As a child it was an unexplainable fear that he experienced but life went on.

He realizes today that what he experienced then, though bad enough for him was nothing compared to what children have and are undergoing today at war struck pockets of the world.

Ceasefire, is a tune written, composed and produced by Ravi Iyer. Whenever a war is struck between countries, may it be due to political or socio-economic reasons or other, ultimately the common man is the most affected. An adolescent who is born to learn the treasures of life is unaware about what wars are about and has no idea why a situation of that magnitude arises.

Says the singer on his latest single Ceasefire, “The lyrics and the song speak about a conversation between a child and the mother during unfortunate war struck periods, where the mother comforts her child and explains the situation keeping in mind the psychology of the adolescent. It speaks about empowering children to overlook these atrocities and work towards a new beginning for a peace filled life for generations here after”.

With spoken words blended with melody, this is a tune that will enrapture your mind and soul and force you to think beyond what is seen.Iyer states vehemently, “Ceasefire! No War!”

It is great to see Iyer work on such a burning issue and speak about it through song. Iyer is known for weaving fab tunes in the past and this song Ceasefire only adds credit to his long list of music creations.

Ceasefire has been completely recorded, mixed and mastered by the Mumbai based Ravi Iyer within his home-studio. The song was released on 25^th November 2023.

Expect Ravi Iyer to begin 2024 with lot more of his original content in languages of English, Hindi and some funk and fusion genres hitting the stages (Lyrical and Instrumental).
