Arrows kicks off sophomore EP with lead single “The Light”

Following the acclaim of his debut EP ‘Friends Tonight, Strangers Again’ in 2023, hailed by Red Bull India as “a quintessential Indian indie EP” and by The Indian Music Diaries as “five tracks of rock bliss”, Bombay-based musician and songwriter David Britto aka Arrows, is set to release his sophomore EP ‘Wilderness’this September. The lead single, an acoustic-leaning track titled The Light, is out now.

Written during the pandemic, The Light is an uplifting anthem about hope and new beginnings. It features rich acoustic guitars, a poignant keyboard hook, and a gradual build-up with drums, bass, horns, and crisp vocals.

Arrows reunited with Bombay-based singer-songwriter Vernon Noronha for The Light. Noronha, who also produced the track, first collaborated with Arrows on his debut single Spaces in 2019. His skilled production and acute understanding of acoustic arrangements elevate the new song.

Sharing more about this release, David Britto said,“‘The Light’ sets the stage for my upcoming EP Wilderness and serves as the ideal lead single. It embodies hope and renewal. Collaborating with Vernon Noronha again after five years was a highlight, as he’s one of my favorite Indian artists and his touch perfectly complements this track.”

Launched in 2018, Arrows is the collaborative project of musician and songwriter David Britto. Known for his performances at festivals like Bacardi NH7 Weekender and Sula Fest with his previous band, Bombay blues-rockers The Tripp, Arrows has gone on to gain recognition through features on Spotify’s ‘Rock in India’ and Apple’s ‘Future Hits’ playlists.

Arrows blends Britto’s powerful songwriting with contributions from prominent Indian indie artists such as Raghav Meattle, Blackstratblues, Tejas, Riya Duggal, Siddharth Barsur, Vernon Noronha, and The Lightyears Explode. As a journalist for Rolling Stone India for eight years, Britto has expertly chronicled India's evolving music scene and hosts the My First Record podcast, celebrated for its insightful interviews with top artists. He has also started a new music blog called Writing Ears. Arrows released his debut EP, Friends Tonight, Strangers Again in September 2023.
