24th August, 2024Zachary Ray and Shreya Bhattacharya have been collaborating on music for the past two years now and have finally started writing their EP that will be out later this year.
Chasing the Sun was a collaborative work from start to finish. Zachary started with an Idea lyrically and with a melody and shared it with Shreya. The two started fine tuning the lyrics. They brought their song to Hersh Desai (Mumbai) recorded the vocals at island city studios and Hersh worked on the final production, mixed and mastered the song. The process of working on a song with like minded creatives is always fun and it adds so much to an original idea organically.
Chasing the Sun is infused with a cyberpunk aesthetic, blending electronic sounds and pop elements to create a unique and futuristic vibe. The song's production captures the essence of a cyberpunk world, with its pulsating beats and atmospheric melodies.
For Zachary and Shreya, creating Chasing the Sun was a joyful and collaborative process. They enjoyed combining their ideas and talents to create something special. Zachary said, "Working on a song with like-minded creatives is always fun and adds so much to an original idea organically.”
Zachary Ray, born and raised in Boston, MA, discovered his love for music early on. He studied at Berklee College of Music, specializing in vocal performance and music business. After graduating, Zachary moved to India, where he spent over a decade teaching, performing, and collaborating with other musicians. His extensive work with the Global Music Institute in Delhi and the Calcutta School of Music has made him a prominent figure in the Indian music scene.
Shreya Bhattacharya, a versatile vocalist from India, graduated from the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. She excels in various genres, including jazz, RnB, gospel, and western classical music. Shreya has performed at numerous festivals and is a well-known name in Mumbai's music circuit. Her powerful voice and unique style make her a standout performer.
