Vinyl records are making a comeback in India. This is great news for Indian music artists who wish to record their music on vinyl.
Samanvii Digimedia Art and Solutions Pvt Ltd, led by industry veteran Sagi Pillai, has launched the country's first vinyl record manufacturing plant in decades. With over 30 years of experience and state-of-the -art technology, they're bringing back the warm, nostalgic sound of vinyl records to India and beyond. By establishing production on Indian soil, Samanvii Digimedia has significantly reduced vinyl record production lead times from 6-8 months to less than 6 weeks. This would only mean faster turnaround times for artists and labels, making it more accessible and attractive to release music on vinyl.
For those who may not know, there was a vinyl pressing facility at Dum Dum HMV Studio in Kolkata but it closed down couple of years ago. The new plant aims to cater to both domestic and international markets. This project is backed by a team with extensive experience in optical media, having previously worked with CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays.
This initiative is a significant milestone for the music industry making the love for vinyl once again come back and making vinyl lovers get their favorite music artists on vinyl.
Samanvii Digimedia Art And Solutions was founded in 2015 and took over the manufacturing assets from Sony DADC in India. Samanvii continues to provide the Disc Manufacturing services and Packaging services, as a strategic partner to companies across the globe.
