Rapper Brodha V has just released his new single D.A.T.N (Dance Away The Night) to ring in the holiday season. The rapper has collaborated with upcoming star Paal Dabba on the track. A quintessential Brodha V track, the song is a combination of Tamil and English Rap and addresses the trials and tribulations they have faced in their respective careers. 

His first release of the year D.A.T.N is slick and stylish and pays tribute to Brodha V’s roots and his journey in the guise of a dance number. The music video boasts a futuristic India created to depict the rapper’s perspective of the world he lives in and the people he surrounds himself with. The music video symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. The hero’s actions against the bad guys are visually represented by flickering lights that brighten again after each battle. This signifies how the hero "lights up" a fading city with every victory. This theme is central to the narrative and visual execution. 

The music video and release announcement comes after much anticipation after the rapper teased a promo with Paal Dabba on his social media in August. “This for me was a dream project” Says the rapper, “Paal Dabba and I had been working on this song for something else but when that did not go through we decided to do something together regardless because of how much fun we were having working on this. The music video is a labour of love. There is a lot of thought that has gone into it and I was extremely particular about how it would turn out, I was trying to gauge if it would match my vision and it kind of took on a life of its own from there. But once it all came together it felt absolutely worth it and I couldn’t have been happier. I can only hope my fans and listeners are able to become a part of this universe I’ve created for them and myself.” he adds. 

With quality at the forefront, the rapper is known not just for his unmatchable sound but also for his beautifully shot and produced music videos which are impactful and commentary driven. On releasing music independently again after a long time, the rapper says  “It's been a while you know since I released music independently but it feels a lot more exciting now, I wanted to go back to my roots all the while being experimental with my sound so this new journey though its new it also somehow feels like home to me. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my career. I have never been more excited about making music. I’ve taken some time to reinvent my sound and to kind of get reacquainted with myself as an artist so this new found freedom comes with not just creative fluidity but also with a fresh new perspective about my music and where I think I am headed” he concludes. 

The music video has been garnering a lot of high praise for its production quality and narrative driven creative concept. From dynamic action sequences to engaging dance sequences the music video is also getting a lot of appreciation for its immaculate styling and visual aesthetic akin to a superhero film or video game. 

On his interesting collaboration with Paal Dabba Brodha V says “I have known Paal Dabba for a while and loved his work, I wanted to work with him but it also needed to be relevant and meaningful. It was important to me that when we do collaborate that it be an impactful collaboration. We both have different artistic sensibilities and we really kind of meshed together organically and seamlessly creating the perfect balance of our two worlds, the visuals of the music video are also largely symbolic of that and it's been so much fun working with him on this project.” 

The Vainko hit-maker released Moodu last year establishing a somewhat of an action hero persona that exists in his ‘BrodhaVerse’ as his fans are calling it and are now also relating his D.A.T.N persona to it as well. The rap sensation has hinted on many new releases in the upcoming year and is slated to be performing at India Bike Week in Goa on 6th December 2024. The upcoming year promises to be a busy year for the rapper and an exciting one for his fans who have been eagerly waiting for more music from Brodha V.
