New Delhi-based guitarist Rohit Kulkarni takes off with ‘Time Always Flies’

Throughout his career, New Delhi-based guitarist Rohit Kulkarni has always admitted being influenced by fellow guitar player David Gilmour and, across Rohit’s compositions through the years, there are – and have been – plenty of obvious Floydian references too. Fortunately, on Rohit’s latest release Time Always Flies, issued on 7th February, nothing changes.

In fact, Rohit’s fans will find more resemblance to Pink Floyd’s classic late ‘80s and early-'90s sound than ever during which Gilmour was at the helm of the band in the absence of founder-member, bassist Roger Waters. Rohit's guitar work and fine vocals are well featured across the track, effectively supported by electrifying lead playing by Rohit himself combined with sublime calmness, whenever required, as part of his composition with bass and backing vocals handled by Tanisha Bhatnagar with the production responsibility held by Anindo Bose, as mixing engineer/master engineer.

While there is nothing sound shattering on Times Always Flies, paradoxically Rohit’s performance remains exciting and it should certainly be an exhilarating experience to seeing the song being performed live.
