Renowned acapella band, Raaga Trippin’ who are part of Qyuki – a multichannel network founded by Shekhar Kapur, Samir Bangara and A R Rahman were seen performing with Pritam at the IPL Opening Ceremony at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Known for their groovy pieces and distinctive style, Raaga Trippin’ has come a long way in popularizing acapella in India. The members who are established in their own right namely Alan De Souza, Gary Misquitta, Gwen Dias, Keshia Braganza, Suzanne D'Mello and Thomson Andrews live by the word, ‘6 voices, no instruments and insane entertainment’.
With sassy vocals, bouts of zest, and a twang of innovation they can boggle your minds with self - produced sounds. Their uniqueness has already garnered them a huge fan base among netizens from all over the globe. Their version of Bollywood hits like Chammak Challo, Lungi Dance, Indiawale, Ek Mai aur Ek tu have several hundred thousand views on Youtube.
The group performed a soulful tune written by India's favorite poet , Rabindranath Tagore called- Anondo Loke at the IPL. At a time when World Peace is facing testing times, Raaga Trippin set out to bring out the message that the love for cricket binds the nation. Their collaboration with Pritam was an orchestral propagation of Peace, Love and Unity.
Their addition of a new wave of music to traditional Bollywood numbers has not gone unnoticed and has caught the attention of several Bollywood biggies like Vishal – Shekhar and Pritam. Their 18 vocal mash up at the GIMA awards 2015 performed alongside ace director Pritam stunned some of the music maestros seated in the audience. They also hosted the red carpet at the Royal Stag Radio Mirchi awards this year. They vowed the audience with their vocal covers of Grammy nominated ‘All about that Bass’ by Megan Trainer and Sia’s ‘Chandelier’.
