Amaal Mallik composes for Salman Khan again for Hero

After making his debut with Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, Amaal Mallik composes once again for the title track of Hero starring Suraj and Athiya. Under the label of T-Series, Hero title track is a romantic song to be releasing on 9th August, Sunday. This title track has 2 versions- sung by Salman Khan and Armaan Mallik.

After the success of Chal Wahaan Jaate hai, Amaal Mallik has his second romantic track releasing with title track of Hero sung by Superstar sensation Salman Khan. Amaal says, ”It has been pleasure working with the superstar Salman Khan. He wanted a very soothing track and we've used minimal beats to make it soothing to the ears. We've also used Chinese instruments as well. With T-Series onboard for music, this song will be another hit”

Salman Sir always wanted the song to be larger than life yet personal, The title song of Hero is mainly about tune and lyrics. It is a very simply orchestrated, but grand composition. For the song, French Horns, Elec - distortion guitars and Chinese flutes are being used. Along with an instrument called Dobro. After spending almost a year to finalize this song, the rhythms of the song are interesting though as they have used a lot of Indian instruments but have been carefully blended into this as not to sound too desi.

Sooraj quotes, "Amaal has done 2 tracks for hero and both the songs have their own romantic feel. And both are haunting in their own way. With hero Amal has proven himself as a very versatile music composer. He is here to stay. Amaal is a genius when it comes to music! He is the new generation music composer!! Perfect for the youth."

Story behind the making:

It was during his Jai Ho Days, Amaal Mallik was working with Salman Sir that 'Main Hoon Hero Tera' was Born. On a random evening, when Amaal was glancing through the papers he read about Salman Sir acquiring the rights of Subhash Ghai's upcoming movie Hero. Amaal wrote down a few sketch/rough lyrics and the hook phrase 'Main hoon hero tera'. At that point of time Hero was not even in its initial stages, but this idea sparked him and was directly bounced it off to Salman sir. On hearing this, Salman instantly connected to it ,as he believed usually with the word 'Hero' every  has made a Macho and fun song but this would be the first time the word 'Hero' would be used in a romantic way. Nikhil sir came on board to helm the project & Amaal's songs being in the film were very uncertain. Somewhere down the line he always wanted to be a part of this project. Having said that, Nikhil sir gave me a situation but that was for another song which was the climax song of the film and the toughest to crack  'O Khuda' is Amaal's second song from the film. Amaal quotes " As its rightly said, if we wish something from our heart, the universe conspires to make it happen."

The rest of the songs were ready with the other composers and 'Hero Tera' didn't make it to the album. Salman sir really wanted it in the film but he didn't want to force his way, so Nikhil sir asked me to record it in Armaan's voice.

T - Series bought the music rights for Hero movie, on listening to all songs, Mr Bhushan Kumar liked the album but felt the need for another song which was missing. Salman Sir suggested to listen 'Main Hoon Hero Tera'. Finally "Main Hoon Hero Tera" made it as another song of Amaal Mallik in the movie. Salman sir on the other hand, loved the song so much that it kept growing on him and decided to lend his own voice for the same. "The passion and love with which he sang was truly inspiring" Amaal comments.

Bhushan Kumar says, “The song has soothing beats composed by Amaal. This song is another heart-touching song after Chal Waha Jaate Hai.”

The song "Main Hoon Hero Tera" was recorded in 5 hours flat with the live instruments included. The journey of this song has been very beautiful experience for the cast. Lastly, Amaal comments "I'm grateful to Salman Sir & Nikhil sir for believing me & letting me helm Hero's music..It is an honor to step into the shoes of the legendary Laxmikant Pyarelal & work on this historic film."
