When you feel in the midst of rhythm, sounds that get you in the groove and bring you closer to rhythmic bliss, you know you’re home – you’re at Dumru Rhythm Festival – - India's first successful and premier rhythm festival, initiated by Gladpeople Management Company in 2011, bringing together percussion artists from all genres from India and across the world.

The 2015 edition of the Dumru will witness global collaborations for the first time. World-renowned and Grammy award winning percussionists from USA, Europe and India will collaborate to come up with new sounds, entertain the audience as also inspire and educate enthusiasts.

Pune will be hosting the third edition of Dumru with 20 world-renowned drummers, 15 percussion acts, 3 workshops, a drumming flea market, mass drumming, drum jams, regional drummers coming together in one arena, this year, the festival is going a notch higher to becoming India’s Premier Rhythm Festival. Since its first and second season in 2011/2012 with an all Indian percussive line up the festival has received an outstanding response from rhythm lovers with more than 36,0000 people thronging the grounds over three days.

Importantly, Dumru Rhythm Festival will be donating their entire profit from ticket sales towards eradication of malnutrition in India via their initiative ‘Music for Food’. The initiative aims to eradicate malnutrition in India by 2025 and for the same will be donating 100 per cent of their profits to Impact India Foundation, an NGO launched by the United Nations and supported by the Government of India.

Some interesting features of Dumru 2015 are:

• A talent stage where 10 deserving artists will get a chance to showcase their percussive talent

• A bonfire drum jam with all artists, media personnel and fans

• A drumming flea market that will have 25 stalls full of percussion and drumming instruments, showcasing world rhythm cultures and sound systems

• To provide young musicians and drummers a rich learning atmosphere, there will be three Masterclasses by world renowned percussionists in Conga, Cajon and Drum kit

• Live graffiti and caricatures by artists

• Traditional drumming by Chenada players from Kerala, Dhak players from Kolkata, Dholki, Dhol and Lejim players from Maharashtra and Punjabi Dhol players from Punjab

• On the second day of the festival, a Rhythm Excellence Award will be awarded to a percussionist who has spread awareness and education about Indian Rhythm globally
