Canon Photomarathon India celebrates its 6th anniversary

Canon, a leader in Digital Imaging space today launched its sixth edition of Photo marathon in India. After a good start in Delhi on 26th September, successfully followed by Bangalore on 10th October, Canon Photo marathon has trail-blazed to  Mumbai at Rangsharda Auditorium, Bandra, Mumbai. The event attracted large number of photo enthusiasts, primarily DSLR users, hobbyist photographers as well as professionals. One-of-its-kind, the theme based photo contest witnessed amateur and professional photographers playing their tricks and techniques with cameras to present exemplary imagery.

The Canon Photomarathon 2015 was flagged off by Mr. Andrew Koh, Vice President of Consumer imaging and Information Center, Canon India, which attracted over 500 entries. The 3 judges for the event were Art and Medical Photographer Dr. Mayur Davda, Commercial and Nature Photographer Mr. Vijay Shah, Commercial and Wedding Photographer Mr. Pritish Rao.

Sharing his thoughts Mr. Andrew Koh, Vice President of Consumer imaging and Information Center, Canon India said, “As Canon Photo marathon enters its glorious sixth edition, we are happy to observe the growing interest in photography in India. Canon Photo marathon is our attempt to creatively engage with our customers and help them refine their skills through a world-class photography competition. India is a huge market with enthusiastic photographers and we are witnessing the rapid evolution of photography here. With our eye constantly on the needs of our customers, we strive to make this event more meaningful each year to recognize the talent in seeing the world through photography. Therefore, providing just the right platform for photographers to showcase their skill.”

Renowned wildlife photographer Mr. Sagar Gosavi, conducted a workshop for the participants on the tricks of engaging photography.

In addition to this, Canon cameras and printers were on display, for the participants to get a hands-on experience. Canon had also set up a free camera health check – up camp for the participants.

In Canon Photo marathon 2015, each contestant will be judged on theme based competition. In this very challenging competition, each contestant will have to shoot pictures within a limited timeframe on a given theme. Themes will be announced just before the event which will make it even more competitive. The pictures will be judged by well-known photographers based on their creative, technical and narrative sense.
