EDM sensation Nucleya releases new single

Saavn announces the global release of electronic music artist Nucleya’s newest single ‘Take Me There feat. Kavya Trehan’ from the album ‘Raja Baja’, exclusively to Saavn’s 18 million listeners, ahead of the full ‘Raja Baja’ album release.

Nucleya made waves earlier this year as Saavn’s first Artist-in-Residence (AiR), promoting his second album ‘Bass Rani (2015)’. Through Saavn, Nucleya is bringing India’s growing electronic scene to an international audience.

Though Nucleya is an established electronic music artist in his own right, his growth in popularity on Saavn shows the growing power of India’s leading music streaming platform. Within only five days of the release of his album ‘Bass Rani’ on Saavn, the stream count increased by 300%, landing him a spot on Saavn’s top three trending artists list. The album itself also made it to Saavn’s top 3.

Often artists in the electronic genre find more fame abroad in countries with established scenes. Saavn is looking to reverse this brain drain effect by promoting a diverse range of local artists through programs like AiR, to make sure that they are celebrated in India and beyond.

“It just feels right to be releasing my new album ‘Raja Baja’ on Saavn. We share a vision of bringing brilliant music to the world, and agree that it should be done in a way that allows me to stay true to my artistry,” says Nucleya. “This partnership has not only been great for India’s growing electronic music scene, but will hopefully help pave the way for other aspiring independent artists.”

“Nucleya is one of the most important artists from both an Indian and Global music perspective. He captivates audiences with his music, his artistry, and his energy. Working closely with Nucleya and his team, we were able to break new records with his last album ‘Bass Rani’. With Nucleya’s much anticipated release of ‘Raja Baja’, we’re able to leverage the global power of the Saavn ecosystem by coordinating product, social, digital, and on ground elements. Our goal is to always be the most creative home for artists and their music. Great music has no borders and we’re honored to work with the most talented artists in the world,” said Rishi Malhotra, Co-Founder and CEO, Saavn.

"Saavn is not just a streaming partner for Nucleya, they are an integral part of his team now. Nucleya is going to be the first Indian DJ to go global and Saavn’s reach is an instrumental part in making that happen. We are thrilled to premiere ‘Raja Baja’ on Saavn and connect with Nucleya’s fans directly,” said Vijay Nair, Founder and CEO, OML (Only Much Louder).

Nucleya kicks off his album launch with two performances in Australia followed by a concert supported by Saavn at the NSCI Stadium in Mumbai, on September 2nd. Saavn will be launching competitions for fans to win passes to Nucleya’s concert. Details will be released on Saavn’s social media pages.  The Mumbai concert is succeeded by a tour across India, and performances in Singapore and China.
