An intense desire to communicate beyond the realm of one’s own musical idiom has led to many interesting collaborations among musicians of diverse traditions. The 21st century has seen a definite rise in such collaborative musical endeavours all over the world.
NCPA has created a platform like ‘Band Baja’ which gives a stage for young talented instrumentalists, who are very well adhered to their Indian roots, to create new music through a collaborative venture. ‘Band Baja’ promotes innovative endeavors going beyond the set boundaries of musical genres and traditions, especially by and for the youth. The ‘Band Baja’ series takes off with Samarpan, a musical offering by young instrumentalists who are well-rooted in the Indian tradition and seek to create newer expressions.
Samarpan is a musical offering by youthful artists, who have come together with an intention of showing musical solidarity to the traditionally rich Indian classical music. As the name suggests, it is an attempt to musically surrender to the great musical ethos & create every moment musically joyful. It is music of genuine passion and ardour.
The band comprises Ojas Adhiya (Tabla), Vishal Dhumal (Keyboards), Ninad Mulaokar (Flute), Manas Kumar (Violin), I.D. Rao (Saxophone) & Gautam Sharma (Percussions).
