Mohammed Aziz, the living legend who entertained his audience in 80s and 90s with his melodious voice, launched a video jukebox of his songs on Shemaroo’s YouTube channel – Filmi Gaane. Called “Superhits of Mohd. Aziz”, the compilation features 32 original song videos from films like Khuda Gawah, Shaenshah, Sindoor,Naam, Henna and Ek Rishtaa among others. A compilation of handpicked & rare melodies that is sure to be loved by his fans and film music lovers.
Mohammed Aziz, originally from Kolkata, came to Mumbai in the early 80s after the death of Rafi and soon rose to fame with Manmohan Desai’s “Mard”. His voice resembled Rafi and he was soon lapped up by several music directors ranging from Naushad and Shankar (of Shankar Jaikishan fame) to Laxmikant Pyarelal, R D Burman and Kalyanji Anandji to Anu Malik, Nadeem Shravan & Anand Milind. Mohd. Aziz who idolised singer Mohd. Rafi has sung for several heroes ranging from Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun & Govinda to Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor & Jackie Shroff. While launching the compilation, Aziz said “I am very happy to launch my jukebox on Filmi Gaane which is the best retro music destination on Youtube. I congratulate Shemaroo for keeping the rich legacy of Hindi films & its music alive.
