Mehfuz – Euphoria - (HMV Sa Re Ga Ma) Rs. 299/-

One of India’s greatest rock acts is back after a gap of a little over 3 years after their last album. Are they still rocking? Well yes and no. Though they got a great deal of goodwill for their earlier albums Dhoom, Phir Dhoom and the mediocre Mantra and Gully, the famous seven who created a new form of music called Hind rock, have taken a slightly more sentimental edge to their music, which means it lacks the usual rocking punch it once created.

You could try the best of the lot like Soneya, Roshni and Dil, which has been penned by the legendary Gulzar, the latter that has a splatter of Konkani lyrics to it. Palash Sen the founder of Euphoria takes on English lyrics for the first time singing gracefully She’s Beautiful. He’s amazing on Bewafaa, a slow and sad ballad that talks about betrayal of love.

The lead track Mehfuz is penned by Palash himself. The album also features Gulzar saab  as a guest lyricist for his two tracks Dil and Roshini. The title track talks about ever lasting love and breaks away from the notion of ‘Till death do us apart’. While there’s a good mix of slow and rock styles, a true Euphoria fan would definitely wonder where the punch went. The album features 12 new tracks embodying Euphoria's unique style of singing blending Indian folk music elements with modern Rock.

Palash Sen style of singing is liked by the audience and he’s back with a new album which will be next super hit album. This their fifth album is a must for fans.
