Celebration – Madonna (2 CDs) (EMI Virgin) Rs. 495/-

The pop princess gives fans something to celebrate. In a career spanning 26 years Madonna returns with a collection of past and present hits including new tracks.

The songs on 'Celebration' have all been remastered and also include radio edits which have been edited shoddily. Diehard fans of the singer would know the beginnings and endings of her tracks and surely a little plus and minus here and there would mean a lot to them.

The highlights include a previously unreleased remix of Dress You Up, neat cuts of toppers like Material Girl, Ray of Light, Like a Prayer, Everybody, Into the Groove, Papa Don’t Preach, Live to Tell, Like a Virgin, Open your heart and Borderline including recent chartbusters like Sorry and Music. There’s also the magical Frozen, Beautiful Stranger, Hollywood, 4 Minutes (with Justin Timberlake) and Secret.

The new tracks Celebration is pure dance and sounds like a cut from Confessions on a Dance Floor while Revolver (featuring a small rap by Lil' Wayne) is a mix between pop and urban music.

While this collection is memorable, the older pieces True Blue, Spotlight, Bad Girl and Human Nature are all left off. And lastly, as a few tracks are radio edits it can really bite you if you don’t have the entire finished versions. So what do you do? You could settle for the Immaculate Collection that has most of her best work…..and not edits. A mention must be made of the neat album inlay that features her most iconic look of the 80s and the styles back then.
