Max Hits 2014 – Various Artists (Sony Music) Rs. 499/-

With seven months passed in 2014, it's already extremely difficult trying to package together a best-of songs list for the year, as it’s rather too early, as the hits keeping coming with each passing day. Down the year, there have been thousands of great songs released since January and putting them into the Best of or Hits compilation would be a tough job. Though there would be many who would love to make their own list of the 2014 Hits, we’d like to settle for the compilation at hand. These 16 songs are the tracks that have been on repeat the most in homes or maybe on our most wanted list, If you haven't heard any of these yet, it's time to start paying attention. The songs which moved our feet, our minds and our hearts are all here.

Our set begins with everyone’s favorite Happy (Pharrell Williams) from the movie ‘Despicable Me’. We have a lot of EDM stuff here and the playlist begins with David Guetta with some real cool break beats in Shot Me Down. You then have I Love It (Icona Pop Feat. Charli XCX). Another great must listen is Pitbull featuring the gorgeous and extremely talented Kei$ha in the racy Timber. Flo Rida is at his best on I Cry, while the very vocal I need your Love, another hotshot track by Calvin Harris with Ellie Goulding is a fab dance number. Waves by Mr. Probz is punchy and worthy of a rewind. Teen kid who made a name for herself after her father, Miley Cyrus puts some punch on the rock edged Wrecking Ball. Bet you have heard it many times and can’t miss out joining on the chorus. Pop diva Britney Spears is here too with her smash hit Work Work.

The slow jam begins with John Legend with his acoustic based All of Me, while UK boy band One Direction hits the mushy side with their heart touching Story of my Life, while James Blunt strums lovingly on Bonfire Heart that has some really beautiful lyrics.

If you want a few more tracks, you can go for songs by artists like A Great Big World, Ylvis, Nonono. Put on your dancing shoes and dance the night away with the final track, the fun loving Vengaboys and their version of Brazil. Yeah we cannot forget the World Cup this year, a good tribute to the game that took place in Brazil.

Clocking close to an hour, most of the tracks were releases that happened in the year 2013. We probably got a hit of it only in 2014. Nevertheless a great compilation, something for everyone here. From blockbuster pop singles to epic ballads, ace songs from artists both new and established have provided the year with an exceptional collection.
