Shafqat’s voice can best be remembered for his superb rendition of the song Mitwa (from the Bollywood movie ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’) and other Bollywood blockbusters and now with his debut effort he promises to charm you even further.
The lead singer of the popular Pakistani rock band Fuzon, Shafqat has blended his rock influence with Eastern classical and folk vocals, bringing out a decent Sufi album that would appeal to many newcomers and fans of Fuzon.
Singer – writer – composer Shafqat has meshed the old with the new and has melodies like the revamped Dum Ali Ali Dum that sounds a little charged and is a sure standout, while Bulleh Shah is more placid. There are also a few pieces that you should tune into.
From the four we’ll second three as they surely have good moments. So you can tune into the very melodic and catchy Khairheyan De Naal, the guitar and accordion based Rang Le and relish the opening rock riffs of Kartar. Manqabat shows Shafqat’s vocal range from the highs to the lows, all done in perfect harmony and in the right music scales.
The album’s highlight is surely Shafqat’s mesmerizing voice, flexible on any genre, and on this album he jumps from being a rock singer to a classical singer with practiced ease. Includes Lyrics to all songs.
