Alothas beensaid of the movie with its share of kinky sex, and for that, the soundtrack offers some similar fare too. Sam Taylor-Johnson's much anticipated film adaptation of novelist E. L. James' pop-erotica bestseller, which hit theaters early this year, has a fairly good soundtrack to fall back on, with some big name making the playlist.
Among the standouts we go for the bursting-heart pop of Ellie Goulding’s repetitious Love Me like You Do that simply melts your heart and surely deserves to be #1 for a long time to come. Her anticipated album is a must watch now after her single has done so well.
Among the 16 tracks we also have the lovely folk balladry of Sia’s Salted Wound. Beyonce finds a place with two tracks, both remixes namely Haunted and her very welcoming Crazy In love that's stripped bare of horns and trussed up with spooky synths and drumbeats. For EDM fans you have electro-rockers Awolnation with a cover of Bruce ‘The Boss’ Springsteen’s I'm on Fire. On that rock edge you also have The Rolling Stones with Beast of Burden.
Other strong selections we would recommend would come from Jessie Ware, with her mediocre Meet Me in the Middle. Also Frank Sinatra’s Witchcraft has its moments and is a good listen.
When you compare the film and the soundtrack which must relate to each other we find that though this does happen, the abusive relationship stigma is attached in a few songs, if you really hear each out carefully.
A good mix of the best fare dished out of 2014, so you could go out and lay your hands on this one and be floored by the music.
