Wiz Khalifa spreads his magic in Mumbai

Rap superstar and mogul Wiz Khalifa brought his thunderous two city Sunburn Arena showcase to Unitech Golf & Country Club Amphitheater, Delhi NCR(14th September) and Jio Garden, Mumbai(15th September) over the weekend, drawing a reported 10,000 revellers in each city.

Everyone in the sea of assorted, happy faces was there to merry make and show the artist their unadulterated love. The basic tenets of rap were in full effect, in styles ranging from raucous gangster songs with the naughtiest of rap party narratives to tempered, pop-friendly artistry against visually arresting sets.

While Raja Kumari, Ananya Birla and THEMXXNLIGHT fired up the crowd in New Delhi; Emiway Bantai, Ananya Birla, Monica Dogra, THEMXXNLIGHT, Ishani x Bobkat had the audience on its feet in Mumbai before Khalifa took to the stage.

Khalifa opened his 90-minute, high-energy set with See You Again. Dressed all in black, he flowed into Black And Yellow which turned out to be quite the crowd pleaser.

"This is going to be the most memorable night since it's my last night in India" he said, before he swung into When I Grow Up that drifted into hits We Own It, Sucker For Pain and Young Wild And Free. The inflatable joints came out, and Khalifa's shirt was off.

He then slowed things down with Promises, rolling into Payphone, We Dem Boyz, Roll Up Mike Will Made It and Hopeless Romantic. Khalifa addressed his adoring fans again saying "I will definitely be back again.”

Karan Singh, COO, Percept Live states, “We are extremely pleased with the stellar response we garnered for the tour and we would definitely like to bring in more hip-hop acts into India 2020. Percept Live once again delivered a state-of-the-art spectacle owing to the ever-increasing popularity of the Sunburn brand.”

Khalifa kicked into high gear, playing his most renowned songs, along with some new material. From beginning to end, Khalifa had everyone singing and dancing along, finally wrapping up the evening with the help of a few students on stage for the last song.
