The Supremes Reflections - The Definitive Performances 1964 – 1969 (Import)

Take a trip back to the golden days of Motown with this release featuring the absolute best of The Supremes. In addition to their unforgettable performances on The Ed Sullivan Show and The Mike Wallace Show, this release compiles a variety of clips featuring the chart topping female group at their all time best. Featured songs inlcude Stop In the Name of Love, You can’t Hurry Love, and Where did our Love Go.

Now on DVD for the first time, the original, spellbinding, breakthrough performances that also feature a very young Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard and Cindy Birdsong with impeccably restored sound and video. This is the stuff dreams were made of and why they still remain the world’s most love female group of the 60s.

A truly fascinating musical-visual documentary and time capsule. However some of the clips are presented in staggered fashion, not perfectly chronological, but still very enjoyable. Some of them can be viewed with acappella lead and background vocals only which is interesting. The footage is all old and mostly black and white. Some of the songs are repeated. I was glad to have something to watch with the Supremes anyway as I have heard so much about them, but never really had a chance to watch them.

This is a very important document for Motown sound, The Supremes and music culture. A joyful experience from beginning to end, not to be missed.

All the performances are enjoyable and they all exude the Supremes inimitable sexual charm. The songs are unforgettable and classic material. Nothing But Heartaches is supreme, Come See About Me is vibrant, so also Where Did Our Love Go, Back In My Arms Again, I Hear A Symphony, You Can't Hurry Love,  Love Is Here And Now You're Gone, Reflections and Someday We'll Be Together are simply superb.

The 20 page booklet is a great bonus, very informative.
