Truly an extraordinary DVD package which includes the very essence of the Temptations. There isn't now, nor will there ever be another group like them. They could all dance and sing. The attention they obviously paid to the detail of each performance never ceased to amaze me. They were always so "precision tuned" and I will never get enough of watching them perform. The Temptations, featuring David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, and Otis Williams make a great package. It's so good to see them on DVD.

Beginning with a stunning performance of The Way you do the Things you do and concluding with the epic Papa was a rolling stone filmed in concert in September of 1972, this DVD includes a wealth of vintage performances, with remastered sound and video, Interspersed between the songs, Otis Williams, the only surviving member of the original Temptations reminisces about the history f the group in an insightful interview, filmed exclusively for this DVD. He was there through it all and is still around to tell us about the magic of the Temptations!

It is good that someone is decided that these Brothers deserve to be seen, and not just heard. Most of the performances were lip-synched, but just to see them perform on these classic clips, you can truly feel the magic either for the first time if you haven't seen them during their glory days or if you are a nostalgic fan revisiting the past. Groovy shows such as the Hollywood Palace, The Ed Sullivan Show and Murray the K, features the Tempts doing what they are known around the world for...doing their precise movements, singing their tight harmonies and looking good doing it.

The acapella section on 15 of their biggest hits continues to awe and astound me. You have to select the section and view it. It is like they didn't need a rhythm section...the harmonies were that tight.

Complete with never-before released photos, the sound and picture quality here are good without being brilliant. If you're a Temptations fan then this DVD is certainly worth buying. The quality of some of the videos may not be of the highest quality but we are talking about videos from the 1960's and in black and white. A great addition to anyone's collection.
