"He's cute and he's awesome and we love him so much!" is one of the statements by wonderstruck teen fans of Canadian singing teen star Justin Bieber. If you want to know how someone all of 17 years handles fame, girls, peer pressure, money, this DVD will tell you the complete story.
Pattie Mallette, Justin’s mother was still a teen all of 18 years when she gave birth to Justin. As he grew, Justin taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. At the age of 12 that Justin sang Ne Yo’s ‘So sick’ for a local singing competition. His mother posted a video of the performance on YouTube for their family and friends to see.
Justin’s tryst to fame started when his performances on YouTube was accidentally noticed by Scooter Braun a former marketing executive, who later became his manager. Tracking him down, Braun arranged for him to meet with R & B producer and singer Usher in Atlanta, USA. Usher signed him onto his company Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher. This move got him a recording contract with Island Def Jam Records a deal that came through by Antonio L. A Reid. The rest is history.
Watch snippets of concerts, behind the scenes with Bieber, archival home videos, with live concert footage; interviews with everyone from Justin's young single mother and his grandparents, to some cute baby shots, opinions from his soccer coach, grade-school teacher, pop icon and actor Usher, producer Braun; producer L.A Reid, female fans, his life backstage, on the road, his throat infection, the determination of those around him to keep his life as normal as possible; and lots of up-close footage of his concerts.
The finale is the 10 day countdown to the wondrous performance in August, 2010 at the world’s best arena……Madison Square Garden in New York performing with guest artists like Miley Cyrus, Usher, Jaden Smith (son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith), and Boyz II Men. Don’t miss songs including ‘Overboard’, ‘Somebody to Love’, ‘Never Say Never’ and ‘U Smile’. There are also the lucky girls who are selected to be serenaded by Justin at every show. He gets them on stage, seats them on a stool, and gifts them long-stem red roses while he sings ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ to them.
The film does a good job of chronicling Bieber's rise to stardom from his rise from an internet sensation to global super-star. On the downside it’s only two years since the young star has made it big, so there’s not much to shout about, but his female fan following and cherubic face, bubblegum pop music is the highlight here. About two hours including a few bonus extras, the DVD is a must have for any teenager, for the kid has talent and he shows it well.
